shockbleeder

Frequently Asked Questions

How much pressure do I use in my shock bleeder when servicing shocks?

Set the regulator on your air compressor to 45psi (3 BAR)

How Much Vaccum do I use?

25inHg on the gauge on the shockbleeder. Using more vacuum will not give a better bleed. More vacuum can pull air past seals.

What kind of oil should I use?

For dirtbike shocks a lightweight high quality shock oil like Maxima 3wt or Ohlins shock oil is recommended.

How much pressure can the clear housing handle?

The clear housings are rated for a working pressure of 125psi. The shock bleeders come with a safety blowoff that will release excess pressure above 60psi. You do not need more than 45-50psi of pressure to service suspension. Even if you forget to set your air compressor to 45psi it is not possible to over pressurize the machine due to the safety valve.

Is the machine compatible with oils and chemicals?

The machine is fully compatible with oils. The machine is not intended to be used with anything other than oil. Other checmicals such as solvents will damage the plastics and seals in the machine. All of the internal valves are rated for vacuum loads and use with oil. The internal seals are made from high quality fluoroelastomer seals and will hold up to heavy use in a suspension shop.
